Fresh facts emerged on Friday on why the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu was absent at the meeting with President Bola Tinubu with the Class of 1999 Governors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Though it was earlier reported in some online media that Adamu deliberately shunned the meeting due to his no love lost relationship between him and the president, one of his aides informed our correspondent that he couldn’t attend because he was sick.

He also said the invitation to the meeting was sent out by the body (1999 governors forum) and not from the presidency.

According to him ” The invitation was sent by the 1999 Governors Forum led by Chief Lucky Igbinedion and not from the presidency. The chairman (Adamu) received the invitation but offered his apologies that he couldn’t attend because he was sick. He never deliberately shunned it as it was erroneously claimed”.

” He was not the only one who did not attend. Former governors Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano); Adamu Mu’azu (Bauchi); Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna); Achike Udenwa (Imo); Boni Haruna (Adamawa); Bukar Abba (Yobe) and Peter Odili (Rivers) also couldn’t attend” he said.
