The Western Delta University (WDU) in Oghara, Delta State has awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree of Science to Mr. Oritsedere Otubu, Chairman of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC).
The university’s Registrar, Mrs. A.I. Uwajeh, conveyed this honour in a letter dated October 10, 2023.
The university said Otubu received this recognition for his outstanding contributions to society, development, and his remarkable achievements in the field of business.
The letter highlighted his significant contributions to the service sector, as well as his exemplary leadership skills and philanthropic endeavors.
“The honour is very well merited and deserved and the university believes that you would continue to honour the university with greater contribution to national and global development and humanity” the letter read in part.
The formal award would take place at the university’s combined 11th-13th convocation ceremony on Saturday, December 2, 2023.”
The Western Delta University commenced academic activities in March 2008 and it is a foremost private university in the South-South region of Nigeria.
