Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Monday described the late founder of the First City Monument Bank Group, Otunba Subomi Balogun as a visionary who dedicated his life to uplifting the people.
The late Balogun passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, May 19, 2023, in a hospital in London, United Kingdom.
Saraki who paid a condolence visit to Balogun’s family in company of his wife Toyin said the late banking doyen will always be remembered as a man of faith who was driven by a determination for people-centered development.
In a post on his official Facebook page, he wrote “As a banker, businessman and philanthropist, the late Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun was a visionary who dedicated his life to uplifting people”.
“Following his passing in London a few weeks ago, last week, Toyin and I visited his family to condole with them and extol the contributions of their late father to our nation and its people”.
“As we celebrate Otunba’s life, we will always remember him as a man of faith who was driven by a determination for people-centered development”.
