Andrew Iro Okungbowa, Chief Press Secretary to Edo State’s Governor Godwin Obaseki, has resigned from the position.
Okugbowa issued a Press Statement on Monday to serve notice of his exit, but unleashed his angst against those making unsavoury insinuations about the development.
Okungbowa wrote:
“I wish to inform us that I formally resigned my position as CPS to Governor Godwin Obaseki yesterday.
“I’m most grateful and indebted to you all for your prayers, counsels and support while it lasted.
“Permit me to put on record the overwhelming support from all the reporters/editors/managers of the Nigerian media of the flagship extraction across board.
“Am humbled by the trust. God bless all our labour of love.
“Meanwhile, my attention has been drawn to some social media reports by the Governor’s media rats. I’m not bothered by their warped narrative and won’t descend to the gutters with them. But rather focus on getting my life and career back on track.”
