The Kano state chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dunguruwa has described the suspension of the presidential candidate of the party, Rabiu Kwankwaso as fake news.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the NNPP said it has suspended Kwankwaso, who was its candidate in the February 25 presidential election, for alleged anti-party activities.
Dungurwa however said he was at a national executive meeting of the party where a vote of confidence was passed on Kwankwaso.
“I am presently in Abuja where the party executive is holding a meeting, there was nothing like that.”
The NNPP chairman added, “We were at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, we just passed a vote of confidence on Dr Kwankwaso.”
He also disclosed that the NEC equally extended the tenure of caretaker chairman and the secretary of the party.
He added that the Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Senators, members elect of House of Representative and House of assembly endorsed the NEC meeting as well passed a vote of confidence on Dr Kwankwaso.
