A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Omoba Tunde Ajibulu mni on Friday condoled with the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa and the entire armed forces over the death of some military officers earlier this week.
Recall that 21 soldiers and officers were killed during the ambush in Kundu via Zungeru in the Wushishi Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger state.
Also, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) had said its MI-171 helicopter on a casualty evacuation mission crashed on Monday near Chukuba village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
In a statement he personally signed, Ajibulu, a member of of the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council (Campaign Planning) said as one who was a member of the 43 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy and son of a of a former NAF pilot, the tragedy that befell the armed forces was a personal loss to him.
While commiserating with the families of the deceased, he also urged Nigerians to continue to show support to the military in their efforts to keep the country secure and flush out terrorists who are making life miserable for the citizenry.
“I commiserate with the Nigerian Armed Forces on the death of this gallant officers. These deaths are very painful and the loss of even one member of our armed forces greatly saddens me because it is a collective loss for us a nation”.
Ajibulu said President Bola Tinubu will continue to give priority to securing the lives and properties of Nigerians.
