Barcelona midfielder, Gavi has been stripped of first-team status at the club amid a contract registration row.
The player would now have to give up his No.6 shirt.
The 18-year-old midfielder inherited the iconic squad number having agreed fresh terms back in September.
LaLiga are, however, blocking the registration of a new contract as Barca continue to struggle financially.
As a result, Gavi will have to remain in Juvenil A records of the club for now.
LaLiga confirmed this when updating Barcelona’s squad list on their official website.
Gavi will revert to the No.30 jersey that he took on when making a senior breakthrough at Barca.
