Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker, has been named winner of the English Premier League (EPL) player of the season award.
The league announced the Norwegian as the winner of the gong on Saturday.
Haaland, who joined City last summer, has scored 52 goals so far in his debut season in England.
The 22-year-old has scored 36 goals in the EPL, breaking the competition’s record for most goals in a season.
He was voted player of the season by the public, the captains of the 20 Premier League clubs and a panel of soccer experts.
The Norwegian saw off competition from Kevin De Bruyne, Marcus Rashford, Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.
He joins the list of Man City players who have won the award for four straight seasons, with Kevin De Bruyne taking the honour in 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons and Ruben Dias in 2020-21 term.
Haaland was also named the EPL young player of the season.
Earlier this month, he was also honoured with the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Men’s Player of the Year award.
He had polled 82 percent of the vote to win the gong ahead of Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.
Haaland will have the chance to add to his Premier League tally on Sunday when City visit Brentford for their final game of the season.
