As anticipation for the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA continues to gather momentum, the first part of the main event has kicked off in grand style with four red carpet hosts including Toke Makinwa (Nigeria), Uti Nwachukwu (Nigeria), Sika Osei (Ghana) and VJ Adams (Nigeria).
As expected, the black carpet hosts are the first cynosure of the eyes, as they are seen adorned in various forms of royal attires.
Toke Makinwa is adorned in a dazzling blue Princess-like dress, Uti Nwachukwu is garbed in a 21st-century spec of ‘Agbada’ meant for royalty, VJ Adams is also seen dressed in a blue royal-like cape while Sika Osei from Ghana is adorned in a gold coloured royal gown which she says represents her hometown, the Gold Coast in Ghana.
However, in what seems to be a surprising twist in the plot, the organisers chose to welcome guests on a black carpet as against the regular red carpet. Why this decision was taken is yet to be ascertained.
So far, some guests have begun to grace the black carpet ceremony which kicked off at exactly 4 pm.
Celebrities who have graced the black carpet so far include popular media personality, IK Osakioduwa, and actress Adunni Ade, among some other African entertainers.
